OLIVER.

Written by Del K. Macintosh

Is he a really good person or not? Nobody knows...

...but we do.

Chapter 1

CRASH! A loud bang woke me up. It was three in the morning. Who or what woke me up so early? I looked out the window and to my surprise, nothing was there. Not even a mouse. There have been noise complaints around the whole neighbourhood with people talking about a big bang. CRASH! There it was again. By the time it got to the third CRASH I jumped out of bed and called the police. They arrested me for the night because I didn't have any evidence for it.

Chapter 2

Spending a night in jail is awful. Plus, it smells bad! It reminds me of the last time I went to my grandparents' farm. The cow manure... ugh! I need to find this guy. And when I do... i'll kill hi- okay maybe not THAT far, but I definitely report him to the police. When I got out of jail the next day, I took an Uber home. I had nothing prepared so I just shoved some Eggos in the toaster and ran to work. Once I got to the office, I heard some people whispering about some guy that was never see again on Killbarry. Wait, that's where I live! I interrupted their conversation after politely eavesdropping and asked how old the person was. They said that he was 18 years old. I quickly grabbed my phone and searched if there was any colleges nearby. There was one: Upper Canada College.

Chapter 3

Even though I had about 7 more hours left to work, I ran and jumped onto the TTC just before it left. It stopped at an intersection of Oriole Parkway & Killbarry Road. I had to be quick because my boss gets at the office in around 15-18 minutes from now. Dang it, it was closed! I had no choice but to break in. I snuck into campus without the guards seeing me and ran as fast as I could to get to the other side of the large field. I panted and changed my clothes into something that looked like I was a student. I blended in perfectly! Some people were asking me questions like if i'm new here or how old I am-which is very offensive to me and my culture-and I answered with nothing. When they were going upstairs, I snuck downstairs with 10 minutes left to spare. I had to be swift, In and out. I went into the office in which there was the Principal making some principal statements on the P.A talking about a guy named Oliver Gibson. He did something bad or- THAT MIGHT BE THE GUY!

Chapter 4

When the principal was looking back at the window I jumped over the desk, pickpocketed my way into his folders and when he looked back he yelled out at the top of his lungs "THIEF!" and that's when I took the rock on his table, took his chair, got onto the chair, broke the window with the rock and managed to get my body out of that small window. I sprinted across the field while the principal walkie-talkied the guards who then started throwing dodge-balls at me while sprinting to get to the TTC bus. I dodged every hit they tried to make and got out of there on my way back to the office. Some teenagers were clapping while holding their phones out trying to get a closer look at me while others were just not impressed with that so-called "John Wick Fancy Business."

Chapter 5

With 2½ minutes, I got back in time. Everyone was watching this kid's live stream of me... yes, "escaping" from college. Keep in mind, I was still in the UCC clothes. I changed into my regular clothes right away. When I was done, my boss came, not looking amused. And then he took out his "IMMA GO BALLISTIC" look. And by that I mean, red face, messy hair, Nico di Angelo emo mad look... yeah, basically it. "WHERE IS THE KID? I WANNA SEE HIM!" Oh poo. I shouldn't have done that. At this point, I started frantically texting my friends to come and pick me up but none of them responded. I also needed to seriously find this Oliver guy and FAST. "HEY! COME BACK HERE!" Boss found me! I ran down the hall with my boss on my tail as I run to the Coat Room. I locked myself in. There was only one open window. "I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE! COME OUT THIS INSTANT!" When he managed to open the door, I jumped out the window and caught the wires. Now I was sliding down the wires and fell all the way down into a dumpster bin. "I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME YOU PUNK!"

Chapter 6

I ran as fast as I could to get to my house. I knew at this point, I lost my job. I didn't care! I still have to find the guy! And so I did. I went back rummaging into the folder looking for an Oliver G... Great? No. Guy? No. Gibson! Oliver Gibson. After 4 minutes, I finally found him. He was in the folder but he didn't take a photo of himself... Strange. There was only his name and his Email. The only problem was it was a "donotreply@g.com" email. UGH! Now I have no track of this guy. He might be a murderer for all I know so far, but he's a teenager! He can't possibly be one. Wait, going back to the email, it doesn't look like one to me, it might be... a website!

Chapter 7

I put the "email" in my search engine and it worked! He turned out to be a singer right here in Toronto but there's no pictures of him, not even on his Instagram page. He probably wants to be incognito forever but that makes no sense at all... He has a concert in 45 minutes at some Cafe downtown! I can make it there! And so I did. With 23 minutes left to spare, I snuck past the guards. They really knew how to fight, so I did my world-famous shoulder touch. They fell asleep! Huh, not bad for a dumb Instagram quote. I walked to the side in which there was an open window so I could take a peek inside. There was a guy that was talking to another guy about... hacking everyone's accounts? They want to get their money! Argh! Those s- "AHHH! OOF." I fell onto the table and might have broken something. Wait, nope, I didn't. I passed out for about 15 minutes. I woke up just before the concert started. I found the guy! He was Oliver! He was young and about 18 years old!

Chapter 8

They stole my phone! "HEY! GIVE THAT BACK!" "Wil jy dit teruggee?" "Geen." They were speaking Afrikaans! "We no give back." Then I had only one thing left to do. I snatched my phone and hit them in the face with it. They tried to get into my phone but could not succeed. I ran on stage and told everyone that they had to leave and they did. I called the authorities to come quick but they were on their way! The guards were coming at me so I ran to the end of the hall, jumped into the laundry shoot and fell down outside onto Oliver. The police arrived at the right time! Everyone was safe, thanks to me. They all got their money back and in return, I got my job back. I wonder what Oliver is doing right now...?
